The Part Time Event Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of ASM Global Oakland patrons, employees, and assets. Duties include responding to routine and emergency calls for assistance and investigating incidents, patrolling the venue and parking lots, searching guests and their personal belongings using walk through metal detectors, hand wands, pat down searches and bag checks, checking credentials and tickets for access into restricted areas, enforcing building policies and reporting violations, engaging in crowd management activities to ensure personal safety of guests and staff, providing answers to guest questions, and interacting with guests, vendors and employees in a courteous and professional manner while complying with all legal and ethical instructions given by the Security Management team. Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, 0-1 years of related work experience, ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen, possession or ability to obtain a valid California Guard Card or Proprietary Security Officer (PSO) Card, ability to maintain good business relations, perform under pressure, exhibit maturity and sound judgment, interact effectively with angry or emotional patrons and employees, participate in meetings, maintain confidentiality, work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays, and understand written and spoken English. Physical requirements include walking and standing 90% of the time, and continuous talking, hearing, walking, running, and vision activities.
