Job Title: Safety Manager - Commercial Construction
Company Overview
Our client is a highly respected construction contractor in San Jose Ca area. Our focus is on delivering high-quality projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety, integrity, and professionalism. We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and reinforce our jobsite safety programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
Safety:
• Maintaining an overall safe workplace on jobsite including but not limited to following OSHA requirements. This includes writing up near miss accidents
• Completing Job Hazard Analysis & Site-Specific Safety plans
• Updating the safety manual as required
• Managing safety inventory & budgets
• Maintaining record keeping of certifications of field personal
• Promoting a culture of safety • Survey lifelines, ropes / equipment before use
• Ensure barricades are set up properly and correct signage posted
• Make sure the red rope is up properly with signage before loading and unloading materials in building
• Ensure all tie off points are in place when there’s a fall hazard / edge
• Monitor operations / work / tasks on swing stage and elevated platform work.
• Stop working if something is unsafe / incorrect, contact supervisor
• Monitor workers in hot weather, ensure there is proper water supply/ shade breaks if needed or weather above 90
• Notify supervisor immediately of near miss / accident Required Experience and Qualifications:
• Glazing experience and expertise • Minimum CHST BCSP Certification
• Minimum OSHA 510 • First Aid, Narcan, Bloodborne Pathogens, CPR, and AED Training
• Emergency Procedures Training
• NFPA 70E and LOTO competency and experience
• Mental Health First Aid Training • Relevant scope and team management experience
• Displays and requires strong work ethic and standards
• Good at setting up processes
• A visionary: able to see the big picture beginning to completion
• Leadership abilities.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to train and mentor others
• Adept with tools and construction
• Ability to Document using PlanGrid, Microsoft Word, Outlook/Gmail & Bluebeam
