Job Description

Willowview is looking to add a Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance(SETA) contractor position in support of a United States Military component. The work will integrate with several ongoing robotics development efforts. In addition, this role will assist in developing future military technology development objectives, support requirements generation, execute capability development projects, scout and assess emerging technologies, and conduct technical evaluations of potential solutions that meet operational needs.

Key Tasks and Job Responsibilities

• Interact with industry and academia to create and maintain robotic development roadmap efforts.
• Attend virtual and in-person meetings/working groups/development events as necessary to support the robotic development roadmap.
• Serve as the technical POC as required on government sponsored projects.
•  Attend industry events to perform tech scouting and interface with industry as required (e.g. AUSI, MDM, SOF Week).
•  Present information using data visualization techniques and product demonstrations.
• Use military technology objectives as guidance to identify promising developmental-phase technologies in federal agencies, academia, and the defense industry that may be of interest.
• Write Analysis of Alternative (AoA) documents comparing multiple solutions to technological gaps.
• Assist in writing technology assessment plans for execution at demonstration events.
• Assist in defining and interpreting high-level organizational engineering performance requirements, including projects, systems, and capabilities.
• Assist in requirements generation to enhance technology acquisition capabilities.
• Provide engineering design and capability reviews to reduce development timelines and improve system performance.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Experience architecting robotics systems.
• Experience with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence preferred.
• Problem-solving hands-on aptitude.
• Excellent communication skills. 
• Experience in PC filesystem deployment (automated install, install packages, setup scripts, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience with GUI development is a plus.

Security Clearance

• Must be willing to obtain a secret level Department of Defense security clearance.
• Prefer existing secret or higher security clearance.



Other(Travel, Work Environment, Admin Notes, Etc.)

• Involves occasional travel to customer sites, meetings, and other events.
